    Friday, December 16th, 2011

This video will give you at least 10 points on your man card. Its a GREAT video, a little slow to start but…
    Actually here’s the progression:

    1.  Trick motorcycle riding -kinda cool.
    2. Science I already know
    3. More science – getting boring
    4. Interesting science I didn’t know
    5. OMG! I just learned the coolest thing ever!!!! I want to be an engineer!

At least that’s how I watched it.

Why I Am a Jesus Follower

    By Bert · Comments (1)
    Sunday, December 4th, 2011

For my whole life, which you could call a “Christian” life since I was “saved” at 7 years old, my heart has been crying for someone to show me how to live. I took rules from teachers and suggestions from elders, not to mention Sunday mornings were just a long stream of alliterated points for living a “good Christian life.” But none of it seemed to fit. The same Sunday School teachers that taught me how to treat others with respect would gossip or berate  anyone who they thought were different from them (us). Those that relayed to me Christ’s message of going into all the world making disciples still discriminated against people just on the other side of the tracks. Read More→

    “Plan B” by Pete Wilson

    By Kevin · Comments (0)
    Monday, January 17th, 2011

Synopsis by Momentum’s own – Kevin Bailey:
This is a book about hope and encouragement when your dreams have been shattered, life didn’t turn out like you thought it would or God didn’t show up like you thought He should. Pete is a young pastor in Tennessee and he tells stories of people in his church that have had God work in their lives through their trials.

    Publishers Description:
In Plan B pastor and author Pete Wilson uses real life stories of disappointments and hurts along with the biblical stories of men and women like David, Joseph, and Ruth to help readers come to grips with the truth that they will face situations that in themselves they are completely unable to handle but that in them God is simply trying to get them to surrender their plans so that they can receive His. He identifies our common responses to difficulties and offers hope, helping us to

    * Understand what God might be up to
    * See how surrender helps us to receive God’s plan
    * Embrace the community of believers
    * Reconcile a God of love with a life of tragedy and suffering

Wilson points readers to the cross as not just the starting line but the centerpiece of our story with God and shares that it is there we turn in our Plan B and find the undeniable relationship between crisis and our hope followed by true spiritual transformation. “God wants to live inside the questions” says Wilson and then reminds us that “the cross is proof that He does not always change the circumstance but that He always has a purpose in every circumstance. He will never let go of us. He will hold us and His cross will be an anchor for us.”
