This video will give you at least 10 points on your man card. Its a GREAT video, a little slow to start but…
Actually here’s the progression:
At least that’s how I watched it.
Here is a big dose of grace from best selling author and leadership guru, John Maxwell.
It’s what we do. Reclaiming a greenspace in the Lyrewood community to enable them to have places for the kids to have camps and play. There will be work crews organized for the next few weekends call the NW Campus to get in on the service.
I’m excited, very excited about this. Everything in my life lately has been pointing to the fact that I don’t know Jesus well enough, well- not really at all.

I found a crazy little project the other night when I couldn’t sleep. Its called “the Words.” Read More→
On a very semi-regular schedule that isn’t very.. the guys at Ransomed Heart put out a podcast. As regular as they aren’t they are always insightful, pointed, and relevant. Right now is a perfect example of that. The Audio podcast here is on the stages of masculinity from Fathered by God. These only tend to be around for a limited time so download them quickly and keep them in your library. As of now, in iTunes, you can get “Boyhood,” “Cowboy,” and “Warrior.”

Top Gear, the British car review show tested the fuel efficiency of a Toyota Prius vs. a BMW M3 with a V8. Proving that it is more environmentally friendly to drive what you’ve got than buying to improve mileage.

Now this looks like an idea I could get behind… Fathering Adventures
Darren Lewis and some mates started an Adventure experience for Fathers and sons (and soon for daughters). I met Darren at the Wild at Heart Boot Camp in Australia. In our conversations I have come to know that he has a strong heart for God and for his sons so this was a natural fit for him.
Our Mission… To provide an enjoyable, exciting, adventure-filled environment for a father to succeed, be inspired, equipped, and empowered, to really connect, or perhaps reconnect with their child. A life-giving, life-changing experience that promises to provide moments that will create powerful memories to last a lifetime, and opportunities to fill a photo album.
While there’s no arguing that Australasia is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. We have some awe inspiring nature around here as well. This would be an excellent partnership endevour for a couple of local men’s groups. Picture it, repelling at Red Rock Canyon, camping and rafting down the Arkansas river, fishing at Eufalla. All while inviting and initiating sons into masculinity. Sounds like a book I might have read.
Dave Ramsey is the inventor of the 7 steps to financial peace. I’m a graduate and I can tell you that there is no better feeling than when you realize you could (if you wanted/needed to) you could pay your bills by delivering pizza. That you no longer have to suck up to your boss because you have to keep your job, you can now give your real professional opinion and live with the consequences. The feeling that if someone came to you with a true need you could, without thinking about it– Meet that need in a big way. Or, the peace of mind when Jesus calls you are in a position to say, “Yes!” Get started today. Its never too late and there is no debt too large.

Baby Step 1
$1,000 to start an Emergency Fund
An emergency fund is for those unexpected events in life that you can’t plan for: the loss of a job, an unexpected pregnancy, a faulty car transmission, and the list goes on and on. It’s not a matter of if these events will happen; it’s simply a matter of when they will happen. Learn more
Baby Step 2
Pay off all debt using the Debt Snowball
List your debts, excluding the house, in order. The smallest balance should be your number one priority. Don’t worry about interest rates unless two debts have similar payoffs. If that’s the case, then list the higher interest rate debt first. Learn more
Baby Step 3
3 to 6 months of expenses in savings
Once you complete the first two baby steps, you will have built serious momentum. But don’t start throwing all your “extra” money into investments quite yet. It’s time to build your full emergency fund. Learn more
